About Live Gold Price Calculator
Gold doesn't come with a price tag. I built one.
Why I Built This
I had some old gold at home. Before selling it, I wanted to know what it was actually worth.
So I walked into a shop and asked the shopkeeper how he priced gold.
He shrugged. "Today's rate."
I tried another shop. Same shrug. Different number.
That's when it hit me. Nobody in these shops was checking anything. The people selling their gold weren't either. They just took whatever number they were told.
A few weeks later I noticed the same thing online. People posting about jewelry they had already sold. A grandmother's chain. A mother's ring. Asking strangers if the price was fair. By then it was too late. The gold was gone.
Most people simply didn't know they could check the live value themselves.
Gold has a live market price that buyers around the world use as a starting point. It changes every few minutes — and it's not hidden. You just need to know where to look.
Most people don't.
That's why I built this gold calculator — a fair, live number you can check for yourself before walking into any shop. It also includes a Buyer Payout table, so you can see what a reasonable offer looks like. Because family jewelry isn't just gold. Nobody should hand it over without knowing what it's actually worth.
How the Pricing Works
Our Live Gold Price Calculator runs on MetalPriceAPI, a live gold pricing feed that updates every 10 minutes. That's the real number behind every calculation — not a guess. I care about this more than anything else on the site. If the number isn't accurate, nothing else here matters.
The payout table works differently. It shows roughly how much of that live price different buyers — pawn shops, scrap dealers, jewelry stores — typically pay. It won't predict your exact offer. But it gives you a range to expect, based on what I saw visiting those shops myself.
